My kudos to all you guys for keeping this site alive and remembering all who served in the 458TH. I served on J7828 and others from 69 to 71.

I was in 720MP Co B on ambush squad 74 from April 68 to May 69 and was reassigned to 458TH as coxswain on J7821 PBR. I left country in Nov. 69. Have lots of stories about the my time on the river. Would like to hear from anyone that was at Cogido around that time.

Good morning,

I’m trying to locate an NCO stationed in the Vung Tau region during the ’70-’72 time period who provided some much needed assistance.

The only ID I can recall is the nickname “Saint Louis Nick” (or “Saint Louie Nick”). He was either an MP or somehow involved in security, possibly in the port region.

Do you have any suggestions as to how best to pursue my search? Thank you,

R.H. Barratt, LTC, USA (Ret)
(with 1st Bde, 5th Inf Div (Mech) in VN)

I am very sure that photo#1 is an MP I knew and worked on my PBR in Cal Lo. His name was "quick draw Popovich" from the Mp Co. in Vung Tau. He had a habit of shooting first then asking questions.

Hubby was a "River Rat" from 68 to 72. Virgil Davis Jr. Part of the 458th Trans Co out of Fort Story. We just lost him to the effects of Agent Orange on 01/17/13. Have tons of pics, and all sorts of things he managed to bring back that belong in a museum. Would love to share the pics, have so many people that I cannot identify. Any ideas on the proper museum to contact for the memorabilia? Give me info on how to join, or where to send pics.
